Net Entertainment launches Land-based casino games in partnership with William Hill
17 June 2015
Online casino and gaming content developer Net Entertainment as recently entered its first ever land-based casino gaming slot deal with bookmaker William Hill. This deal will enable Net Entertainment to confidently expand their services into the Land-Based casino market across all William Hill UK licenced gaming outlets. After a successful integration process over the past few weeks, these gaming titles have been launched and are now available in outlets around the UK
President and chief executive officer, Per Eriksson of Net Entertainment commented saying: “We provide leading-edge digital casino solutions and we are excited to make our thrilling games available to William Hill’s land-based players for the first time ever. William Hill is the largest betting and gaming operator in the UK and this partnership will allow us to maximise distribution in their major channels such as retail, desktop and mobile. Although the online casino market has shown steady double-digit growth in the past five years, online penetration is still very low. Today, only 5% of the global casino market is online, the rest comes from traditional, land-based gaming. Over time, we see interesting growth opportunities in the retail channel and our multichannel strategy will drive increased convergence between online and offline gaming.”
The new found agreement will certainly compliment an existing online partnership between William Hill and Net Entertainment which surely is a milestone and big step forward for both companies. Net Entertainment is one of Europe’s largest suppliers of online casino games and confident to extend their delivery commitment and services. This agreement will allow Net Entertainment to maximise its distribution reach through William Hill business channels which includes retail, online and mobile offerings.
Director of gaming at William Hill, James Curwen commented saying: “Net Entertainment is one of the leading suppliers of best in breed online casino content in the market today, and we are fully committed to make sure we can provide our player community with the very best experience, which now can be further realised through our agreement with Net Entertainment.”
Digitalisation and convergence are the mega trends in the retail global market with increasing growth of Land-based business-to-consumer (B2C) retailers offering e-commerce solutions. Online consumption is expanding at an accelerated pace and the trend is expected to continue. Increased broadband penetration and sophisticated mobile devices with internet access support this development. The gaming industry shows a similar pattern with increasing convergence between Land-based gaming and online gaming.
