Casinos in Asia rely on family entertainment

The Melco Crown Resort in the Philippines is one of the largest casino resorts in Southeast Asia. Here the general trend, to offer the visitors more than just a casino, is taken into account. An “interactive game and creativity center” has been opened in the casino resort City of Dreams Manila. The center, which is located in a shopping center, offers attractions on the topics of the DreamWorks SKG Animation Studios in the US. The DreamWorks brand produced titles such as “Kung Fu Panda”, “Shrek”, “Madagascar” and ” Train Your Dragon”. “Dream Play from DreamWorks” – a more than 5,500 m2 area, was officially opened by Lawrence Ho Yau Lung the co-chairman and chief executive of Melco Crown Entertainment, and Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation. The new facility will help to establish the casino resort as an interesting destination for families in the region, said Clarence Chung Yuk Man, chairman and president of Melco Crown Philippines.
City of Dreams Manila was developed by the MCE Leisure Corp, a subsidiary of Melco Crown Philippines. The MCE Leisure Melco Crown Entertainment pursues a strategy of entertainment for the whole family in its Asian casino resorts, including a successful live show called “The House of Dancing Water” in the “City of Dreams” in Macao. Last week it was announced that in the course of the construction of Studio City, a $ 3.2 billion casino resort in Macau, scheduled to open in Macau , on the Cotai later this year, also offers an in-house magic show.
